Dave Fields

Meet Dave Fields, a board-certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) who believes that compassionate care and real connection are at the heart of improving mental health. Born and raised in Hawai‘i—and a proud Mililani High School graduate—Dave combines local insight with an unwavering commitment to helping others thrive.

His professional journey began with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Northwestern State University of Louisiana, followed by specialized training in psychiatry during his Master of Science in Nursing at the University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio. Along the way, Dave gained valuable experience in both hospital and community-based settings, supporting adolescents and adults facing a range of mental health challenges.

Dave’s work extends far beyond clinical practice: he has served vulnerable populations at the Institute of Human Services (IHS), The Queen’s Medical Center, and Hawai‘i State Hospital, focusing especially on individuals struggling with homelessness. In addition, he shares his expertise as an adjunct instructor at Kapi‘olani Community College, where he continues to guide and inspire emerging psychiatric nurses.

When he’s off the clock, you can find Dave unwinding with his favorite anime series, exploring new travel destinations, or relaxing at home with his faithful dog, Gary. Whether he’s teaching, treating, or just talking story with clients, Dave’s dedication to mental health shines through in every aspect of his life.
